Game Development, B.S.

The Game Development major is intended to provide students with the skills they need to successfully work in the games industry as a programmer, designer, or producer. It deliberately focuses on providing students with a broad base of experience to allow them to find success either at larger firms or with smaller developers.

SPECIFICS OF THE GAME DEVELOPMENT  B.S. DEGREE

Minimum Total Hours:  120

Total Liberal Arts Hours Required:  60

General Education Requirements: Per Core Curriculum Requirements list (see General Education Council).

Minimum Requirements: Overall and major GPA of 2.0; no grade less than C- in the major.

Transfer Requirements:  See institutional transfer policies.

Application to the Major:  Standard institutional major application should be submitted at the end of the sophomore year.  A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required for acceptance to the major.  

Major Requirements:  50 hours.

  • 7 hours in math: MATH 2281, 2400
  • 25 hours in Computer Science: CSCI 2010, 2020, 2710, 3000, 3110, 3610, 3710, 4210, 4710, 4950 or 4980
  • 18 Hours RIZE core: XDATA 1100, 1200, XDSCI 2100, 2200, 3100, 3600, XIFTC 2050
