President's Easter Message 2025

He Is Risen Celebrate the Savior Easter Message

John 11:25–26 – “Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?’”

Dear Roberts and Northeastern Community,

As we prepare to gather in the light of Easter, we are reminded of the enduring hope we have in Jesus Christ—the One who declared, “I am the resurrection and the life.” These words, spoken to a grieving Martha, carry the weight of eternal promise and the reassurance of God’s nearness in our most difficult moments.

This year, as we reflect on Christ’s resurrection, we do so in the context of a world and a campus community that knows both challenge and renewal. We are people who carry burdens, face uncertainty, and walk through seasons of change. Yet, in the midst of it all, Easter breaks through with the promise that life has the final word—not death, not despair and not darkness.

Jesus’ statement in John 11 is not merely a future hope—it is a present reality. The resurrection is not just an event; it is a person. Christ invites us not only to believe in His power over death, but to live now as people shaped by resurrection hope. In Him, we are made new.

May this Easter rekindle in each of us a deeper faith and a renewed calling. Let us continue to be a community that embodies resurrection hope—where learning is infused with purpose, where worship is anchored in joy, and where every student, faculty and staff member is reminded that they are part of God’s redemptive story.

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. And because He lives, we live also.

President Rupert A. Hayles Jr., Ph.D.
