Professor Shannon Conner is a board-certified music therapist with over 10 years of full-time clinical experience. She currently provides music therapy services to children with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) at the School of the Holy Childhood in Rochester, NY, where she recently played a key role in establishing the Holy Childhood Choir program.
Prof. Conner earned her Master’s degree in Music Therapy from Nazareth University and Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania. While there, she studied piano as her primary instrument and was the winner of the 2014 Concerto Competition, performing Gershwin’s Concerto in F. Her music therapy research projects include studies on The Prevalence and Perception of Client Behaviors in Music Therapy. She completed her clinical internship at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance in Rochester.
In addition to her professional practice, Professor Conner has directed choirs, led a cappella groups, taught private piano lessons, and served in worship leadership at her church. She is passionate about mentoring future music therapists and is excited to join the Music Therapy program at Roberts Wesleyan University.
