Ramon Cintron
Traditional Undergraduate Student Financial Services Counselor
My faith plays a profound role in shaping my professional perspective, as I view every interaction and challenge as an opportunity to learn, grow and serve others, both collectively and individually.
Profile
Ramon Cintron joined Roberts Wesleyan University drawn by its Christ-centered atmosphere and the opportunity to help young people pursue their goals and dreams. His work is guided by a deep faith that shapes how he approaches every interaction as an opportunity to learn, grow, and serve others with grace and compassion.
Before coming to Roberts, Ramon spent nine years as an executive leader on a team dedicated to supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness throughout Rochester. The role was both demanding and deeply fulfilling, planting “fruitful seeds” that continue to shape his perspective today. When he felt called to shift into higher education, Roberts provided the perfect place to align his professional experience with his personal mission. Now, as both an employee and a student (and a parent of two current Roberts undergraduates) his connection to the university runs deep.
Ramon sees the Student Financial Services (SFS) team as playing a vital part in helping students make wise and informed financial decisions about their education. He believes every conversation is an opportunity to reflect Jesus’ love through kindness, understanding, and genuine support.
One of his favorite scriptures, Colossians 3:13-16, reminds him of the power of forgiveness, love, and unity:
“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you… Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.”
Outside of work, Ramon enjoys what he calls “kitchen therapy” through baking and cooking. He loves traveling, kayaking with friends, watching or playing sports, and spending quality time with his wife, four children, and their dog, Murphy.
What excites him most about his role? Knowing he gets to be part of students’ journeys, encouraging them as they move closer to their goals and into their life’s purpose.
His advice to students: “Seek the Lord’s guidance for your purpose and calling. Be faithful, be obedient, and don’t shy away from hard things. Do them with courage, even when it’s scary.”
