Roberts Wesleyan University invites candidates to apply for a full-time (9-month), tenure-track Exercise Science faculty position beginning Fall of 2026. The Exercise Science program is housed in the School of Natural and Social Sciences on our park-like campus in Rochester, New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences is located in the Crothers Science and Nursing Center, equipped with modern instrumentation and technology-rich research and classroom spaces that allow for hands-on experience with over 26 state-of-the-art instruments utilized in chemical and biological analysis.
Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Exercise Science or similar (kinesiology, exercise physiology, etc.). A Ph.D. is preferred.
A professional member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and/or American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Preference will be given to a candidate who is an NCSA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
Previous academic and research experience is preferred.
Candidates with strengths in the content areas of exercise prescription and strength and conditioning are encouraged to apply. However, qualified candidates in all sub-disciplines of exercise science are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of all faculty at Roberts Wesleyan University is teaching. Teaching responsibilities could include undergraduate courses in biomechanics, strength and conditioning, exercise prescription, athletic injury management, and/or others to be determined based on areas of expertise. Additional responsibilities include conducting scientific research at the undergraduate level, advising students in exercise science, and supervising student internships.
While the primary focus for faculty is teaching, effective faculty performance will also include service, profession-related activity, and scholarship.
The approved salary range for this position is $52,000 - $57,000. Salary and rank are commensurate with education and experience.
