This course includes an overview of the growth and development of young children from birth to grade 2, emphasizing formulating developmentally appropriate practices, including the importance of play and collaboration with families and caregivers.
Topics include models of early childhood education, observation, evaluation, working with community agencies, and the New York State Learning Standards for inclusive early childhood classrooms.
Prerequisite: TEDU 2350 and admission to the Teacher Education Program.
