The Cultural Life Center

The Roberts Symphony Orchestra

Andrew B. Hale Auditorium

  • Acoustically superior, 974-seat auditorium
  • Full-fly system
  • Proscenium stage with hydraulic lift
    • Stage dimensions: 49' wide x 46' deep
  • State-of-the-art lighting and sound systems

5 air-conditioned seminar rooms are in close proximity to the Auditorium.

Audio-visual equipment rental and assistance, including satellite downlinks, are also available.

Meeting Rooms & Lecture Hall

We offer 20+ air-conditioned seminar rooms throughout the campus.

Shewan Hall

The Shewan Recital Hall is located on the lower level of the Cultural Life Center.

Due to its special acoustic properties, we recommend this space for

Davison Art Gallery

  • Event Space – Can host small to medium-sized gatherings, receptions, or art-related events

Golisano Community Engagement Center

Golisano Community Engagement Center

  • First-floor event space – flexible layout for campus functions, community events, and gatherings
  • Commercial kitchen – supports catering and food service for events
  • Conference and meeting rooms – available in various sizes, including a large flexible room that can host up to 238 people
  • Outdoor patio and “front porch” gathering area – furnished exterior space for receptions, social gatherings, or informal events

Meeting Rooms & Lecture Hall

  • Available in a variety of sizes for trainings, seminars, and group meetings, including a cozy fireplace space
  • Equipped with projectors, screens, and sound support for presentations

Residence Halls

Available starting the last week of May through the first week of August

Davison

Our newest residence hall sleeps 200 people in air-conditioned comfort. Arranged “suite-style,” Davison Hall has 2 twin beds per room, 4 bedrooms per suite. Each room features beds, dressers, desks, closet, and wifi.

There are kitchenettes on each of the 3 floors and 1 large lounge near the entrance of the first floor, complete with a big screen television. There is also a small lounge in each suite.

The “Quads”

O’Brien, Updyke, & Magill Hall

The Quads contain three 48-bed bed facilities, for a total capacity of 144. Each area of the Quads has 4 small lounge areas and 4 bathrooms with a total of 8 showers. Each room has 2 twin beds, dressers, desks, a closet, and wifi.

There is also a large lounge located between Anderson Hall and O’Brien Hall, and another located between Updyke Hall and Magill Hall.

Miner Hall

With the ability to house 147 people, Miner Hall is set up in suites to accommodate 10-12 people per suite.

There are 2 twin beds per room, dressers, a closet, and wifi. Each suite also has a lounge and a bathroom.

Townhouses

The Townhouses

15 comfortable townhouses are available for rent during the summer months. They are available by the day, week, or month.

Each townhouse is air-conditioned and fully furnished, including a living room area and kitchen. There are 2- and 3-bedroom units with 2 twin beds in each bedroom.

Lake Auditorium

Within Merlin G. Smith Hall

  • Seating Capacity: Approximately 175 seats, making it suitable for large-scale events
  • Ideal For: Large lectures, conferences, and community gatherings
  • Facilities: Equipped with advanced audio-visual technology to support diverse event needs
  • Accessibility: Designed to accommodate a wide range of events, offering flexibility in usage

Roberts Wesleyan University is committed to making events accessible for all guests.

  • All major venues are ADA compliant with ramps, elevators, and accessible restrooms
  • ASL interpretation available upon request
  • On-campus parking is free for event guests, with multiple lots located near major venues
  • Reserved parking for buses and accessible drop-off areas available

Policies & Guidelines

To ensure a smooth event experience, please review our standard policies before booking:

  • Catering – On-campus catering is available; outside catering requires prior approval
  • Decorations – No nails, tape, or adhesives may be used on walls or fixtures
    • Certain buildings prohibit the use of helium balloons
  • Alcohol – Alcohol service is restricted and requires special approval
  • Smoking Smoking is not allowed in buildings
  • Insurance – Any large gathering or event hosted by an organization requires a certificate of liability insurance
  • A facility/house manager will be present for all events to provide assistance
